Using poker software

I just started to use Holdem Manager 5 days ago. I play NLHE up to $3/$6 and I find that all the micro stakes players use poker software as if they were God. I just don't think a player at the $0.05/$0.10 stakes should be concert about VPIP and PFR % while he doesn't really know what he is doing. I think they should learn to play solid poker first and then they can add some extra help from the statistics. I understand that the poker software are more important on the short handed tables but I am still not sure that it doesn't hurt one's game to use these from the very start. Am I wrong? I might be, I am open to hearing your opinions about this.

I don't think most of them need it, but i can imagine someone (like me :P) with $200, starting in micro limit, playing for years and wants to maximize the profit and reach the next limit as fast as it's possible.
Actually I'm planning to buy some software... But there are players who don't like them and think is some kind of cheating. (I mean for ex. a HUD)

I don't think it is cheating, I just think it is overrated at the lower stakes. I was fine and had a really high BB/100 as high as on the $2/$4 NLHE tables (full ring). In short handed games it is much more important, but if you get too used to seeing the data all the time, you will be unable to play without it any more which is not good. Also I think it helps you learn to play better if you don't use them in micro stakes.

what i dont understand is how this software program works and i dont understand if a pokerroom allowes users to use such software. is that legal ?

The software tracks your opponents' tendencies, like how many times they see the flop, how many times they raise pre-flop, how many times they check-raise on the flop, etc. Then it displays the information above your opponent on the screen. Yes, it is legal, all poker rooms allow the use of this type of software.
